Retirement Plan Administration

Couple Walking Pier

A qualified retirement plan is one of the most tax-efficient tools available to a business owner and one of the most technically demanding to maintain. Design decisions, contribution limits, nondiscrimination testing, and annual compliance filings all carry consequences that compound over time. The earlier those issues are organized, the more options remain available.

A.Y.Bassam & Co. LLP has partnerships in place with third-party administrators (TPAs). They hold credentials through the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and work with a range of recordkeepers and technology platforms to provide plan administration that is precise, current, and audit-ready.

The objective is not simply to file. It is to ensure the plan is designed correctly, administered consistently, and positioned to withstand regulatory review so that the tax benefit is durable and the compliance exposure is contained.

What This Typically Includes

  • Plan design and implementation for new defined-contribution plans (401(k), Safe Harbor, Profit Sharing)

  • Eligibility determination, contribution calculations, and allocation administration

  • IRS limit compliance for deferrals, catch-up contributions, and plan benefit ceilings

  • Annual nondiscrimination testing (ADP/ACP)

  • Form 5500 preparation and filing, Summary Annual Reports, and Safe Harbor Notices

  • Participant support for enrollment, loans, withdrawals, and required minimum distributions

  • QDRO review, contribution corrections, and plan amendments

  • IRS and DOL audit support

  • Plan terminations and deconversions
