Ahmad Yama Bassam
Managing Partner - Global Tax Strategist
Mr. Bassam is a global tax strategist who advises clients on a broad range of U.S. and international tax planning matters, with a focus on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax compliance. He provides strategic guidance to families with special needs children, family offices, and high-net-worth families on business succession and legacy planning. He works in close partnership with his clients and their advisors to implement sophisticated domestic and cross-border strategies involving U.S. and foreign trust structures, gifting techniques, estate freeze transactions, life insurance planning, and closely held or qualified small business stock.
His experience extends to charitable planning—such as split-interest trusts and private foundations—and advising tax-exempt organizations on maintaining compliance, tax-exempt status, and effective governance.
Building upon his formative experience at Morgan Stanley and subsequent advisory engagements with both the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, his trajectory continued as Managing Partner at Moore Global (formerly AHG), a renowned international network of accounting and advisory firms, culminating in the founding of A.Y.Bassam & Co. LLP.
Mr. Bassam is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) at the Colleges of Law. He holds a Master’s degree from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix.
Mr. Bassam is the Co-Founder of Arden and Bassam Partners, a firm specializing in the dynamic convergence of financial markets, banking, and sustainability. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Tri-Counties Association for the Developmentally Disabled (TCADD).
