Ruhi is a graduate of The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, where she earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law with a concentration in commercial, financial, and fiscal law. Her academic focus reflects a deep commitment to understanding how legal frameworks in finance and taxation can advance sustainable development outcomes. While at Fletcher, Ruhi also completed a cross-registered course at Harvard Law School on cybersecurity and cyber conflict, further broadening her interdisciplinary legal expertise.  

 

Ruhi recently completed a six-month internship with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in New York, where she worked with the Sustainable Finance Hub's Tax for SDGs Initiative. In this role, she contributed to the development of country-level strategies that align national tax policy with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), deepening her practical experience at the intersection of fiscal policy and international development.  

 

Prior to her work with the UNDP, Ruhi held legal internships at prominent Indian law firms, including HSA Advocates and King Stubb & Kasiva, where she supported teams on matters related to corporate and financial law. She also served as a student associate at the Centre for Learning and Innovative Pedagogies at Jindal Global Business School, and completed a summer internship at a Bank, providing her with early exposure to financial services in emerging markets.  

 

Her capstone project at Fletcher, titled "Implicit Exclusion of CISG: Analyzing Opt-Out Mechanisms", reflects her interest in international commercial law and treaty interpretation, demonstrating her ability to navigate complex transnational legal regimes. 

 

Ruhi will intern as a Tax Policy and Sustainable Finance, supporting two high-impact initiatives: 

• Research for Mr. Bassam’s upcoming book on tax planning for families with special needs. 

• Development of the first global awareness campaign for Shawn’s Blue Bench (SBB), and identification of grant funding opportunities to support its mission.
